Sub-Antarctic Resupply and Fishery Patrols
The Offshore Patrol Vessels OTAGO and WELLINGTON regularly patrol the waters of the Sub-Antarctic Islands and the Southern Ocean in support of the Department of Conservation and Ministry of Primary Industries.
During Southern Ocean patrols the tasks include the transport of supplies and personnel to remote Department of Conservation outposts on the Auckland and Campbell Islands and patrols in the Southern Ocean Toothfish fishery.

In recent years HMNZS WELLINGTON has been as far south as the Antarctic Peninsular, visiting McMurdo Sound.
